About diacritic signs transliteration (specific semi-symbolic additions to letters)

The administrator of the domain .UA Hosmaster Ltd informs about the publication of Interpretation N2 to the domain .UA. Policy "About diacritic signs transliteration" (specific semi-symbolic additions to letters).

According to this interpretation, since in the English language diacritic signs are not used, the so-called anglicized form, i.e. writing without any additional symbols is used in the domains derivative of trade marks containing additional parts of letters at original writing.

Diacritic signs transliteration issue was not regulated by domain .UA Policy in details before. Owing to the increasing number of applications to the domain administrator concerning the transliteration of the trade marks containing diacritic signs, the administrative commission of WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center prepared a corresponding interpretation on the basis of the international practice of domain issues consideration.

The Interpretation is to be applied from the moment of its publication on the official site of the domain .UA administrator.
